Creating A Screen cast (or Screen recorder)

If you are looking for a Screen recorder and the free version of Quicktime does not allow you to record ( Windows) you might look at Screencast-o-Matic. We have used it with quite a bit in the past with great success. There are other screen recording softwares available and if you are using one of those that is fine.

This YouTube tutorial gives a good review on what is available on:
 Screencast-o-Matic's free version and more importantly how to use it. 

Most of the videos you see on YouTube have been made with a screen recorder, as you will see, it is a great tool for creating voiceover presentations from your computer.

VoiceThread

For our exhibition and cultural reviews during VET, we will be using an online collaborative platform known as VoiceThread.
This is essentially an  online platform that allows you to upload media in the form of images, presentations, videos and documents in to a central home page.
You can then create digital conversations around your presentation in the form of video, audio, text or phone comment. You can invite people to view your VoiceThread through email or embedding your thread on web or a blog page, just like you would a You Tube video.
Those you share with, can then make comment through voice, video or text, you can also invite people to co-author a thread. These comments are then viewable in the Voice thread for others to access or contribute to the conversation. There are many uses for VoiceThread particularly within education, critique, presentations and discussions.
To begin, go to voicethread. com and sign up to a free account, there are other educational accounts that you might wish to explore later. Begin, by simply selecting 'Create' in the 'MyVoice' page and 'Upload' an image or presentation from your computer. You then need to Share by inviting others through the share link.

The sound quality in the second VoiceThread is a bit broken,nonetheless her review gives us an interesting insight in to her approach.
